The Old Metropolis

The first and only capital of Tetra, Metropolis was the location of many major events in Kyosian history, from battles with Narians and the coronation of Elara Bates to the dissipation of the High Council during War. It was a glorious city of its time, which rivaled the capitals of northern continents and even Ilyon. Unfortunately, Klyogeia, one of the largest Demons out there, couldn’t care less. She destroyed Metropolis almost single-handedly, killing most of its citizens in the process.

Metropolis is closer to a dome (Nova) than any other City of Old that Kyosians re-mapped, so it remains the most well-explored among them.

Hatching grounds: after its rampage in Metropolis was finished, Klyo left and returned with a giant sphere which she placed near the center of the city. 500 years later the Egg, as it was affectionately nicknamed by hunters, is still lying there, attracting nearby Bygones with its strange radiation.

Escape: the attack came sooner than expected, and the evacuation was chaotic. The city was living its daily life when Klyo struck.

Klyogeia: just look at Her… They stood no chance.

Flavia

Scholars from Pion speculate that Garuda almost doubled in size during the last several hundred years and continues to expand. However, even before War conquering this desert must have been a grand task: not as ambitious as the Mover of Planets, perhaps, but still challenging in its own right. A joint Ares-Pion expedition discovered intricate systems of collecting, storing and even producing fresh water, although those few of its members who lived to tell the tale after encountering Death in Flavia didn’t sound particularly excited about all that technological marvel.

Corrupted: in 12 AW, Corrupted from all over Kyos flocked to Flavia and made the city their own.

Elixir of life: Flavians collected rain water, used recycled water and literally made fresh water out of thin air — despite the fact that Flavia was accessible to heavy transport, making every drop count was the part of the project that made it feasible.

Galvana

The Mover of Planets was the most ambitious project attempted by the pre-War society. Galvana started off as a space port, but as more modules were being delivered into orbit, new facilities began to sprout around it. By the time the Mover was nearing completion, Galvana had become a space city with population over ten thousand. Astronauts, scientists, engineers and doctors were able to feel the formidable project moving along quite literally with the rumble of every new launch. Ironically, the Mover later entered the atmosphere not far from Pyrax Peninsula, and Galvana was also the perfect place to see it burn.

Expeditions: for some strange reason, the Order of Priestesses of Tali has always shown great interest in Galvana; since the introduction of flux fields, they participated in almost every expedition to the space city, and even organized some of them.

Identity: the city had its own coat of arms. After War, only the lazy didn’t comment on how it looks like the falling Mover.

Equipment: Galvana was very well-equipped. For the ones backing it, the Mover of Planets was a prestige project, and the progressivist wing spared no resources on making it shine. Which it did in the end… you see, with the Mover, there’s really a lot of SPACE for jokes like these! (I’m sorry.)

Northern Star

In 330 AW, Arthur Soma, the then head of the Soma sept, asked Helmsmen for assistance in organizing an expedition to The Void by sea. The crew was to depart from Ares and head towards Aurora bay, from where it could round the peninsula to the west in search for a good place to land. Helmsmen outfitted several amphibian modifications of Caretakers with flux field generators, and it didn’t take long for Arthur and his people to reach the waters of Erin Sea. After a while they rediscovered the ruins of Northern Star, a small fishing town which was the first to be attacked by Demons because of its proximity to the NRC, and where Elara Bates, the first Queen of Tetra and a prominent political figure in the history of Kyos, was born long before War. The expedition decided to go ashore; communication with them stopped soon afterward. That was the first and last organized attempt septs made to get to Northern Star.

Monument: a statue of Elara (“A Spearheading Maiden”) was unveiled in town soon after her coronation.

Earsplitter: in one of his final transmissions, Arthur insisted he had heard a loud ringing of a bell as his expedition had been closing in on the town. But you know how those Somians are — the ringing’s always there.

Virtue

Not much is known about Virtue; in fact, many Kyosians aren’t sure if the city ever existed in the first place. The idea for it was conceived by the Talis, who became the most influential family of the conservative wing in the course of the High Council’s rule. In 26 BW, they announced the project to general public, along with plans to begin its construction in the nearest future. Virtue was to become a special trade zone with partial legislative autonomy, and, apparently, a selective process for potential future citizens was going to be held. This last bit, as well as the veil of secrecy surrounding the project, produced all kinds of rumors about the up-and-coming “utopia”. Attempts to obtain any evidence from scarce bits of conflicting information proved to be futile, and in the end, despite the fact that by 500 AW Kyos was almost completely re-mapped, no traces of Virtue had been found.
